While clinical studies that speak to its specific cosmetic benefits may be lacking, it has grown increasingly popular with traditional acupuncture clients, and dermatologists and acupuncturists alike have spoken to its potential positive effects.

Similar to traditional acupuncture, strategically inserted, sterilized needles into different areas of the face and body with the aim of stimulating blood flow and balancing the body's Qi (which, when translated, means "vital energy" in Traditional Chinese Medicine).

Clinical studies on this may be lacking, but its deep with a history steeped in the ancient practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine which started in China approximately 3000 years ago. We target specific facial structures that build your youthful confidence!

Gua Sha: The treatment begins with a clean face free of makeup and creams followed by a solution of water and oil. A Gua Sha, or flat tool, made of semi-precious stone is used to gently massage the face, forehead, brows, jawline, chin, and neck as well as around the mouth as we target the complexion for optimum results.

Jade Rolling: Jade rolling is a practice of applying a cold stone with gentle pressure, a procedure that has been used for centuries because it works.

In addition to its skincare benefits, jade stones calm and improve your mood. (That's right!) This traditional stone soothes the mind and releases negative thoughts.

This low-temperature exposure restricts blood flow while light pressure pushes lymph fluids to the lymph nodes,

The fluids are filtered and freed of toxins that improve circulation and lymphatic drainage. It can also help calm the mind. reduce headaches, TMJ pain, sinus congestion, eye strain, and lower eyelids puffiness.

Cupping: Facial cupping increases circulation and stimulates facial cells responsible for collagen production. It’s also known to improve the flow of your “qi” (pronounced “chee”) or life force.

This brightens the skin and minimizes the appearance of scars, fine lines, and wrinkles on your chin, jawline, and neck by decreasing puffiness. Facial cups are smaller and softer than body cups and are used to gently pull the skin away from deeper layers of fascia. This increases blood flow to the area and rejuvenates the skin without leaving cup marks behind.

Since the cups are not static, a gentle movement stimulates and moves blood around the face, and drains toxins out through your lymph system.

Acupuncture:  This noninvasive treatment involves placing tiny needles into targeted pathways called meridians, on areas of the face and body to plump and tighten the skin, and target wrinkles and fine lines,

Facial acupuncture, also called micro-needling punctures the skin with thin needles to create tiny wounds that signal the body’s healing response, As blood and lymph flow increase, oxygen and nutrients are delivered to the acupuncture points.

This microtrauma releases chemicals that reduce swelling and fibroblast cells, producing collagen and elastin to strengthen, hydrate, and firm the skin while boosting elasticity. This restores the skin’s texture and wound-healing abilities giving it a more youthful appearance. A well-considered alternative to cosmetic fillers, it avoids side effects, such as facial muscle paralysis associated with BOTOX®.

Herbal Therapy:

The recommended treatment for most skin conditions includes a blend of traditional herbs and oils, some ingestible and some meant to be applied directly to the skin. Each herbal formula will also include ingredients to address other symptoms that are part of the individual’s overall health picture, For instance, with acne, there can be hormonal imbalances or gut involvement, which we can also address with herbs.

TCM treatment involved observing the color of the rash, whether it’s moist or dry, the degree of flaking or scaling, and the level of itch — all of these variables indicate different herbs to be included in the customized treatment.

During our consultation, we look for patterns to determine what’s causing the skin response which can often be triggered by stress, warm weather, spicy foods, food intolerances, or exposure to environmental toxins. By determining the cause, balance can be restored.
